Running for Water

Wed Sep 23, 2015 Marathon

I hope all is well with you! I wanted to share with a big adventure that I am taking part of this year.

On November 8, 2015 I will be a running the Madison Marathon which is a 26.2 mile run through the streets of Madison. While the thought of this can be a little overwhelming, I am doing it to help children in need on the other side of the in the world.

I was inspired to run after learning that nearly 1,600 children under the age of 5 die every day from diarrhea caused by dirty water, poor sanitation, and improper hygiene. World Vision is providing a new person with clean water every 30 seconds and the funds I raise through this race will help provide clean water to those children.

Through World Vision’s water projects, $50 brings clean water that lasts, to one person. I have committed to a goal of raising $1,310 $2,620 $5,000 clean water for 100 people.  I've have realized I want to make each of my steps/miles even more valuable so I am challenging myself in these last few weeks. How many more kids can I help with YOUR help?

These funds will bring clean water that frees children from deadly disease and liberate women and children from a life spent gathering dirty water. It restores health and opens the door to education, a promising future, and a full life—the kind of life God intends.

This is where you come in. I’d like to invite you to join me in my mission to provide 100 people with water, hope, and life. Will you visit my fundraising page and make a donation, to bring clean water to one or more of these children?

There is an African Proverb that says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Today, I want to go far and I want you to go with me. Please let me know if you have any questions, as I would love to talk more about this with.
